TRANSMISSION ENGINEERING SUMMER INTERNSHIP

Western Farmers Electric Cooperative (WFEC) is recruiting an Electrical Engineering junior or senior for an internship opportunity at our Headquarters location in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

WFEC, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, is an electrical Generation and Transmission company headquartered in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Member-owners consist of 19 distribution cooperatives, which, in turn, serve the total electric needs of three-fourths of the state of Oklahoma. WFEC has power generation plants located in Anadarko, Mooreland and Hugo, OK. Our internship is designed to assist Transmission Engineers in our Project Design and Management area. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure and knowledge in the electrical energy industry.

The individual selected for the internship will perform the following tasks as well as gain work experience in other areas:

·         Assist Transmission engineering personnel with projects related to field work such as surveying, staking jobs and taking detailed field notes

·         Conduct coordination and distribution studies from the substation breaker through reclosers to fuses

·         Design customer service work requests utilizing engineering design tools and new work management systems

·         Coordinate capacitor placements

Qualified candidates will be:

·         Junior and Senior engineering students working toward a BSEE from an accredited university.

·         A minimum GPA of 2.8

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office Products - Access, Excel and Word and ability to learn job related software.

·         Pay Scale $12.50/hr. - $16.50/hr. based upon number electrical engineering hours completed.
