Message from the Chairperson

On behalf of the faculty and staff, welcome to the web site of the Department of Engineering and Physics (DEP) at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO). The Department's vision is to be the leader in the creation and development of intellectual and human capital in engineering and physics and their applications, in order to foster the technological, economic, and social enrichment of the State of Oklahoma, the nation, and the world. Our goals in support of this vision are to: be recognized as one of the very best quality undergraduate programs of engineering and physics education, research, and its transfer to the community at large; be recognized as a place that encourages excellence and diversity in thought and endeavor; provide degree and continuing education programs that produce graduates who are well-prepared, to enter and assume leadership roles in the profession; and provide quality undergraduate research experience and intellectual resources for our student majors to address problems facing the industry and the nation It is in this context that DEP works to advance UCO’s strategic mission, helping students learn so that they may become productive, creative, ethical, and engaged citizens.
