Syllabus and Course Requirements

The official course syllabus will be passed out during the first class meeting and may be downloaded here. The remarks below summarize the main points of the course requirements.

Examinations
:
There will be two examinations during the course - a midterm exam and a final. All exams will be open book and
open note.

Homework:
Weekly homework problem sets will be assigned and will count toward grades. Homework is due at the beginning of class on the date due. Late homework will not be accepted for any reason; you will however be able to drop your two lowest homework scores.  Students may work together on the problem assignments, but each must turn in solutions written entirely in his/her own handwriting (except for computer graphs or tables, which must be totally individual work by the submitting student).

Grading:
Your course grade will be based on the following scale:
A > 85% >= B > 70% >= C > 55% >= D > 40% > F
and will be based on the comprised of following components and corresponding weights::
Homework
30%
Exam #1
35%
Final Exam
35%
